Thinking about coming in?
Here is what working with this office actually looks like, so you can decide whether it suits you before you pick up the phone.
The people this office is for
A small independent practice, so most of our clients are individuals, families, and small businesses around Louisville.
- Individuals and families filing a personal return
- People who are self-employed, freelancing, or doing contract work
- Small businesses, LLCs, partnerships, and S-corps
- Landlords and people with rental property
- Retirees and people living on fixed incomes
- Executors and families dealing with an estate or trust
- People who are behind on past returns and want to get caught up
- People who got a letter from a tax authority and do not know what to do
If you are not sure whether we are a fit, ask. It is a short conversation, and if we are not the right office for you we will say so plainly rather than take the work.
Individual income tax
Your personal return, prepared by a real person who reads it line by line and looks for what you are owed.
Small business and corporate tax
Sole proprietors, LLCs, S-corps, and small corporations, handled with an eye on the whole year, not just April.
Bookkeeping
Clean, current books so you always know where you stand and tax time is never a scramble.
Payroll
Pay your team correctly and on time, with the filings and withholdings handled for you.
Quarterly sales tax
Sales and use tax reporting, prepared and filed on schedule so you never miss a quarter.
Tax planning
A look ahead, not just a look back, so next April holds fewer surprises.
Estate and trust
Careful, patient help with estate and trust returns during sensitive times.
You will work with Belinda directly. She prepares the return and she is the person you call about it. There is no queue and no different preparer next year.
How becoming a client works
Six steps, no surprises. Most of it happens over the phone or across a desk, not through this website.
- Step 01
Get in touch
Call the office or send a message. Tell us roughly what you need. You do not have to dig up any paperwork yet, and there is no form to fill in first.
- Step 02
We confirm and tell you what is next
We will let you know whether we are a good fit, roughly what the work involves, and what a first meeting would cover.
- Step 03
Complete the intake information
We will ask for the basics we need to open a file. This happens through the office, not through a form on this website.
- Step 04
Get your documents to us securely
Bring them in, drop them off, or use the office's approved secure method. Never by regular email.
- Step 05
Sit down with us
We go through your situation together. You will leave knowing what happens next and what it costs.
- Step 06
We follow up
You hear what the return says before anything is filed, and you get clear instructions about anything you need to do afterwards.
What to bring the first time
You do not need everything for a first conversation. If you bring only one thing, make it last year's return, because it tells us most of the story.
- Last year's tax return, if you have a copy
- A photo ID
- Any letters or notices you have received from a tax authority
- A note about anything that changed for you this year
- Your questions, written down so you do not forget them
How to send us paperwork
Bring documents to your appointment or drop them at the office. If you need to send something ahead of time, call the office and we will tell you the approved way to do it.
Please do not
Email tax documents, text a photo of your ID, or put a Social Security number into the contact form on this website. This is an ordinary public website, and we would rather be slightly inconvenient than casual with your information.
Questions people ask first
It depends on how involved your return is, and you will always hear the price up front, before any work begins. Most individual returns are straightforward and affordable. We would rather quote you honestly than surprise you. Ask during your free consult and we will give you a real number.
We built a friendly checklist for exactly that. Use the What to Bring tool on our Resources page to filter by your situation, check items off, and print or email the list to yourself. In short, bring your ID, last year's return, and any tax forms you have received.
Belinda is an Enrolled Agent, which means she is licensed by the federal government and admitted to practice before the IRS. An Enrolled Agent is a tax specialist by definition. In plain terms, she can represent you directly in front of the IRS, so if you ever get a letter or a notice, she can deal with it on your behalf. The same trusted person who prepares your return can stand with you if the IRS has questions.
The federal individual filing deadline is usually April 15, and we will always tell you the current dates for your situation, including quarterly and business deadlines. See the key dates on our Resources page, and do not wait until the last minute, earlier is calmer for everyone.
Individuals and families, the self-employed, small businesses and corporations, landlords, retirees, and folks dealing with an estate or trust. If you are not sure we are a fit, just ask. The consult is free.
Yes, and you are not the first. We help people get caught up calmly, without lectures. Bring what you have and we will sort out the rest together.
Get in touch
Tell us a little about your situation. No pressure, no sales call afterwards, and no obligation to book anything.
Prefer to talk? Call (502) 420-1040. During filing season the phone is answered more reliably than anything else.
